This is the second generation of the M&P series, and Smith & Wesson made some improvements over the original. It has a stainless steel chassis built into the polymer frame that makes it more rigid and durable. They also adjusted the grip angle to help manage recoil and get back on target faster. It’s a double-action pistol with a trigger pull that’s lighter than earlier M&P models.
